Katherine Vlamis, known as Merakki, is a self-taught electronic/pop singer-songwriter and producer from Kansas City, Missouri. Starting to write songs at the age of five, Katherine has been passionate about music for as long as she can remember. Over time, Katherine has developed her sound and style into a fusion of pop and electronic music. Her catchy melodies capture a sense of youthful excitement while her meaningful lyrics tell a deeper story of the obstacles and challenges faced when growing up and stepping out into a world much larger than yourself. In 2018, she won 2nd place in the statewide Creating Original Music Project festival at the University of Missouri for her song “We Won’t Fall”. In this same year, she also released her first EP, “Silver Linings”. In 2019, Katherine won 1st place in the statewide Creating Original Music Project festival at the University of Missouri for her song, “Lighthouse”; this song is now available as a full production on her new album “Golden Hour”, released August of 2019. Currently, Katherine is pursuing a Music Industry major at the University of Southern California while continuing to write and produce her own music.
